Interview with RUDY the Reindeer

Let’s get to know Rudy the Reindeer, niece of the famous Rudolph!

“Welcome, Rudy! You know, your little house is absolutely lovely — super cozy, and you are fantastic… we’re sure this interview will be a big success!”

Rudy: Thank you sooooo much! Welcome to my cabin-shaped house… I made tea and cookies! Actually, I wanted to leave a bit of Bon Bon’s magical Carrot Cake for this special moment… but I couldn’t resist and finished it this morning! I love sweet treats, and as my super friend Lampo says: “After a good training session, you always need a sweet reward”… hmm actually he doesn’t say that, I do… but I’m sure deep down he agrees!!! Did you know this is my very first interview? I’m so excited!!!

“That’s wonderful, then let’s get started! Dear Rudy, can you tell us what it’s like to be the niece of the famous reindeer Rudolph?”

Rudy: Oh, I knew you’d ask me that! Being the niece of Rudolph is a huge honor and a big responsibility! Everyone remembers the story of how, during the great gift delivery, on a night of thick fog, my grandpa Rudolph used his shining nose to guide the sleigh! That story has always inspired me to be brave and never give up, even when things seem hard. Especially when I think about how, before that moment, everyone made fun of him for his nose! Then Grandpa Rudolph, thanks to that very nose, became a true worldwide star! Kids, remember: everything that makes us special is not always understood right away by the people around us… we have to be patient with those who don’t get it yet, especially if they use words we don’t like. The only thing that really matters is to believe with your soul and heart in everything that makes you special… and bright… just like my little nose!

“Rudy, what do you love most about your work in the Kingdom?”

Rudy: I love seeing the happy faces of the children when the Christmas lights turn on! But most of all, I adore protecting and talking to the animals I meet during our gift deliveries. Every little dog and cat has a story to tell, and it’s always a pleasure to chat with them.

“Can you tell us more about your love for animals?”

Rudy: Of course! Since I was little, I’ve always loved animals. They are our most loyal friends, and every creature has something special to share. I like spending time with them, listening to their stories, and making sure they’re happy and safe. But there’s something truly magical that not everyone knows… animals can see us! During our visits to the real world, when no one is thinking about Christmas, animals are the only ones who notice we’re there! They help us a lot by keeping us up to date about their owners and the health of Love in the world.
They say if you really want to know someone, you should watch how they treat animals! They love me so much — I always carry fresh carrots and special little biscuits that I bake together with Bon Bon… When I see an animal, I calmly approach and offer them a small treat. I love seeing their tails wag and their eyes sparkle with happiness.

“Who is your dearest friend in the Kingdom of Santa Claus?”

Rudy: Oh, I have so many wonderful friends! There isn’t really one best friend… Lampo cares so much about me and always makes sure I don’t overdo it with sweets! And… speaking of sweets, I can’t help but laugh when I think of Steve the Candy Cane! He’s so funny and always makes me laugh with his jokes and pranks. And I love his wild dance moves! When we go ice skating, we are an irresistible duo! The thing that makes me laugh the most is when we’re in Italy and people, reading his name italy, think he’s a dog, since Cane means “dog” in Italian! But he’s really unique, and he’s the first to laugh about it and make up a thousand jokes… he can never really take himself seriously!

“Speaking of good cheer, have you ever seen Dr. Krampy laugh?”

Rudy: Well, Dr. Krampy is always quite the grumbler! But I discovered he has a soft side too. There was a really special moment when we saw Dr. Krampy smile! It was the first time we decided to celebrate Santalloween here in the Kingdom… oh, what a story that was! We decorated his coal factory with lights
and pumpkins… he seemed super happy, until he realized that… ihihih I’m still laughing about it! Anyway, I think deep down he likes being part of the magic of Santa Claus’ Kingdom… have you seen his house shaped like a hat? It’s so cool! And his helpers, the Sfatichinis… they’re adorable!

“Rudy, a question many children would love to ask you… how does it feel to guide Santa’s sleigh on the most magical night of the year?”

Rudy: It’s an indescribable feeling! A magic that starts even before taking off… When Santa gives me the Magic Maps and we check together to make sure every path to reach the children is the right one! And then… flying through the night sky, with all the star-friends of Lucy shining and Christmas lights glowing in the houses, is simply magical. Feeling the joy and excitement of children all over the world fills my heart with happiness. Every year, I can’t wait to light the way with my red little nose and bring a bit of magic to everyone’s lives, especially to those who live to make their dreams come true.

“Dreaming is so important, fundamental! Rudy, do you have any advice for those who want to follow their dreams?”

Rudy: Absolutely! My advice is to always believe in yourself and in your dreams, even when they seem impossible or far away.

As my grandpa Rudolph used to say: “No matter how thick the fog is, if your little nose shines, you will always find your way.” Never EVER let obstacles discourage you — use them as trampolines to jump even higher.

“Rudy, can you tell us a fun secret about Santa Claus?”

Rudy: Of course! A funny secret about Santa is that he loves quirky socks! Every year, all of us together give him a new pair with silly patterns or even our faces on them. It’s a little detail that makes him laugh so much and puts him in a great mood!

“Rudy, what’s your secret for always keeping such good cheer?”

Rudy: My secret is super simple! It’s about finding joy in the little things, which is the first thing you learn here in the Kingdom. A smile, a laugh, a moment of kindness can make a huge difference. And of course, I’ll never get tired of saying it, having wonderful friends like Lampo, Steve, Lucy, Pretty, Buddy, and all the other Kingdom residents… that makes everything so much easier. Sharing special moments and doing good for others is what truly makes me happy. And remember, a bit of light from my little nose can always brighten even the darkest day… just like all those magical people out there who put on a red nose and make the world smile!

No more dark on the path because, you can count on the light of my shiny nose!
