The secret to making the Christmas Light shine lies entirely in the way we behave. Have you ever wondered why I’m the only one who can get close to Lucy and play with her? Being graceful, kind, generous, authentic, and gentle is the only way to feed the Christmas Light every single day!
Pretty: Oh, that is such a lovely story! When Lucy tumbled down from the sky, The Kingdom of Santa Claus came to life! My very first memory is seeing her in the highest tower of the castle, looking around a bit lost! Usually, when you meet a star, you think about making a wish, but my first thought was to do something for her. I looked carefully at her, as if she was missing something, so I walked up to her and gave her a little hat, just like Santa Claus wears! She was so adorable! From that moment, we became best friends.
Pretty: Oh, I remember it so clearly, it still moves me! One evening, we caught the wish of a father worried about his little boy. This boy, whose name was Luca, was terribly afraid of the dark!
So we built him a magical nightlight shaped like Lucy to place on his nightstand… it was a way to remind him that, by keeping it on, we would always be his happy thought even through the darkest night! And it worked!!! That gift was so special that Santa decided to produce many more of those nightlights here in the Kingdom, ready for any parents who might request one!
Pretty: Ohhhhh yes… it’s my favorite game! Actually, it should be a secret, but here’s how it works: when the workday is over, Lucy, Buddy, and I sneak into the most magical room in the castle. It’s called the Hall of Enchantment, and it’s filled with magical tools! But… listen to this! At the center, there is a big round hole called the Magisphere. If you peek inside, you see something like a beautiful sky full of colorful floating lights! Well… you might not believe it, but do you know what those lights are? They are people’s wishes! And that’s exactly where we found Luca’s dad’s wish. This game, we called it the WishCatching, and… well, I can’t tell you how it works just yet, it’s a super secret that you’ll soon discover!
Pretty: Oh yes, I absolutely adore my little house! It’s shaped just like my shoes and full of 100% Elf details! For me, it’s a corner of paradise. I always bring there the sacks with my favorite letters to study them and invent incredible surprises for the children who write to me. It’s well known that true Magic lives in the little details! Are you hungry? Would you like a piece of my strawberry cake?
Pretty: Of course! It’s my secret recipe… or, well, it was my secret recipe! When Bon Bon, the pastry chef Elf, tasted it, he almost fainted from how good it was! With his big sweet eyes, he asked me if I could share how I made it. That was the best compliment I could ever receive… because Bon Bon is a true master, and in fact, he took my recipe and turned it into something even more extraordinary! He promised he would share it with you all… maybe in a few pages!
Pretty: How kind of you! I think about well-being and happiness by default… it’s more an attitude than a thought. When well-being and happiness are your purpose, in some way you’ve already thought about yourself… and you keep going with the goal of being useful to the good and the joy that exist outside of you! That said, of course I have many things I love to do just for me! I love reading fairy tales and poetry, walking through the enchanted woods of the Kingdom, and creating works of art with natural materials. I also love spending time with my friends and… well… the thing I love most in the world is my heart’s place: the Wishing Garden.
Pretty: Oh, it’s the most beautiful place in the world! A truly magical and special place in the heart of Santa Claus’ Kingdom. Imagine a garden where the roses bloom generously without thorns, because in this place there is no room for defense, only for beauty and kindness. What makes the Wishing Garden so unique is its maze, an enchanting tangle of bushes full of delicious forest berries. Every step in the maze is a discovery, with each corner revealing a new surprise. And you know, sometimes among the shrubs, you can spot the playful shapes of the Kingdom’s residents, who seem to smile at the visitors passing by!
Pretty: Oh, this is the most beautiful part! The beating heart of this garden is a majestic cherry tree, whose branches weave together like protective arms. On one of its strongest branches, my dear Buddy lovingly built a beautiful swing. It’s right there, in the center of the maze, where Lucy and I meet at sunset. From that swing, surrounded by the embrace of night, we share our wishes for all those who, despite adversity, continue to act with kindness and courage for a better world. Our wishes come to life and fly up into the sky like shining stars, becoming a guide of hope and determination for many people.
