Interview with BON BON

Let’s get to know  Bon Bon, the pastry chef elf!

“Hi Bon Bon! Tell us, how did your passion for pastry begin?”

Bon Bon: Oh, hi there! Well, my passion began when Santa gave me my magic spoon! During the special gift ceremony, I remember I gave up my own present
to give it to another elf who didn’t get one. Santa noticed that gesture and rewarded me with the spoon, telling me that my generous heart would make every treat even more special! From that day on, every cookie, cake, and sweet carries a bit of my kindness

“Bon Bon, you’re famous for your irresistible desserts in the Kingdom, but what’s your personal favorite?”

Bon Bon: Oh, what a sweet question! I have to confess, I love ice cream! It’s so versatile, fresh, and fun to create. Do you know what my dream is? I’d love to open my own ice cream parlors outside the Kingdom one day — little magical corners where even in the middle of summer, you could taste a bit of our Christmas magic turned into marvelous Gelato. Imagine: each flavor inspired by one of our friends from the Kingdom, like chocolate and hazelnuts for Henry the Nutcracker, or a sweet and spicy cream for Steve the Candy Cane. That would be amazing, don’t you think? So everyone could enjoy a taste of the Kingdom whenever they want, and I could share my creations all year round.

“Tell us about Waffy, your inseparable puppy! How did he come into your life?”

Bon Bon: Ah, Waffy is one of a kind! He secretly hopped onto Santa’s sleigh during a trip to Scotland. When he sneaked into my pastry shop and devoured all the freshly baked waffles, I couldn’t help but adopt him! Since then, he’s been my faithful companion for sweets and adventures. He’s always ready to sniff out a mystery, and he has so much fun when Steve the Candy Cane visits the bakery or when Henry the Nutcracker takes him along to solve some puzzle!

“You have a really sweet motto: ‘Every generous heart makes the world a work of art!’ What does it mean to you?”

Bon Bon: For me, generosity is the secret ingredient in everything good. When you make a treat with love and think of the happiness it will bring, the magic becomes even stronger. I believe that every small act of generosity can sweeten the world and make a difference… just like a sprinkle of powdered sugar! Even if we don’t notice it much, we can all be pastry elves. Our good deeds make treats that are good for the heart!

“Speaking of magic... we know your spoon has a special power. How does it work?”

Bon Bon: The spoon has its own magic, but Santa taught me that true power comes from the heart. Once, when I was tired and my sweets didn’t turn out
right, he reminded me that the Spirit of Christmas is inside us and that we’re the ones who make our tools magical… after all, as that grumpy Dr. Krampy
once said, “things without meaning are just things.” Since then, I know that every time I bake with love and a heart full of Christmas spirit, the magic happens on its own

“Tell us about your friendship with Lucy and Steve. We heard you once made a bag of magic popcorn together…”

Bon Bon: Oh yes, what an adventure! Lucy, Steve, and I made some magic popcorn for a special party, but we didn’t imagine that the popcorn would come to life and become some of the most beloved characters in the Kingdom — and… poof! That’s how the Sfatichinis were born, Dr. Krampy’s little helpers! It was a surprise for everyone, but the Sfatichinis are super funny, even if a bit clumsy!

“Speaking of Dr. Krampy, what’s your relationship with him?”

Bon Bon: Dr. Krampy is a grumbler, but deep down I think he loves sweets! One time he even said that my desserts would be better with a little bit of coal… But I know he likes my work. Maybe one day I’ll manage to get him to taste one of my fabulous chocolate BonBonBrownies — you’ll see, he’ll sweeten up too!

“What’s your favorite treat to bake for Santa’s Kingdom?”

Bon Bon: I love making the “Morbidosi,” these buttery cookies that melt in your mouth. They’re wonderful, soft, with a delicate lemon flavor. Every time I bake them, Waffy is right there, ready to taste the first one fresh out of the oven. It’s become a tradition to share the very first Morbidoso with him!

“If you could invent a magical dessert that represents the spirit of Christmas, what would it be like?”

Bon Bon: Oh, that is such a delicious question! It would be a soft and bright cake like a star, with layers of colorful cream that change flavor with every bite: vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate, and ginger! The magic part? Whoever takes a slice and makes a sincere wish would feel the warmth of Christmas in their heart. I’d call it… “The Christmas Dream”! Wouldn’t it be wonderful to ask someone, “Hey, would you like a slice of Christmas Dream?”

“Finally, what message do you want to share with those who love baking and the magic of Christmas?”

Bon Bon: Don’t be afraid to follow your heart and put love into everything you do. Baking, just like Christmas, is an art of sharing and joy. Every treat we make can bring a smile, and to me, that is the greatest gift of all. Remember: “Every generous heart makes the world fabulous!”
